01/2012

New Year’s Resolutions:

  1. Garden
  2. Read more
  3. Watch more documentaries
  4. Be more outdoorsy; camping, hiking, etc.; 1 trip/month
  5. Be more active; run trails, mountain bike, etc.
  6. Most importantly, don’t be a lazy ass and take off a day from work just for the hell of it

2 of 6 resolutions have subsequently become JM’s resolutions as well, by default. One week into 2012 I’ve made good, upholding my resolutions.

I have:

  1. Enjoyed my homegrown cilantro
  2. Read the 2nd book of a trilogy
  3. Ran up and down Proctor Valley
  4. Worked full-time, even overtime

I am looking forward to:

  1. Kayaking and whale watching in La Jolla: 1/14/12
  2. Camping trip with JM in Julian: 1/27/12 to 1/29/12
  3. Camping trip with JM in Grand Canyon: 2/2012

The only resolution I have trouble with is the mountain biking…I just imagine myself bombing down a massive slope, wiping out, and eating shit, while at the same time managing to shatter my helmet and skull. Perhaps my resolution should have been: conquer fear of mountain biking, first.
